Eber Actuarial

founded by Jason Eber

Supporting Life Insurance Companies Through Transformation Projects Since 2016

Jason has accomplished a lot in his post-degree career; he has focussed predominantly on finance transformation projects with large insurers, though has had exposure to technical specification, end-to-end testing, project management, and managing handover from project work to BAU processes.

Jason decided to set up Eber Actuarial in parallel to moving into contracting. He felt that his ability to be agile and support businesses on projects would be more successful if he had a forum for sharing his experience and views on the insurance market.

Areas of Practice

Life Insurance Reporting

Jason has several years working in the BAU reporting cycle. He has been involved in results production and review, using his knowledge of actuarial systems to troubleshoot errors, and his knowledge of insurance products to give a comprehensive review to stakeholders. He has supported SII BAU reporting, based on Internal Model, and supported business readiness efforts in advance of IFRS17.

Actuarial Systems and Infrastructure

Jason has owned actuarial models in Prophet, MG Alfa and AXIS. As a consequence, he is able to manage models in these systems well, including troubleshooting inconsistencies. He possesses a strong understanding of data infrastructures and automation frameworks that are a key focus given increasing regulatory pressures for granular reporting.

Project Management

Through the use of enterprise tracking tools such as Jira, Trello and Rally, Jason has managed agile, project, and BAU deliveries. He is able to discern between uses of features, feature sets, and defects. He uses a big picture approach to understand prioritisation, whilst clearly communicating any concerns to stakeholders.
